Music has not always been the forefront of Kat Holder’s life. The last thing she wanted to do was open up her mouth and sing. Her mother was one of the first people to see the gifting in Kat, and, along with other mentors, spent countless hours encouraging Kat to use her gift. After graduating High School, Kat became a part of a nine-month discipleship program where her worship leading experiences began. She eventually moved to Phoenix, AZ and continued to grow in becoming a worship leader.
She led worship and sang numerous specials at Dream City Church (formerly known as Phoenix First Assembly) under Pastor Tommy Barnett, and became a part of Frontline Worship. During her time with Frontline, Kat traveled, sang on albums and helped start the Frontline Worship Institute, which helped her discover her love for teaching. Kat now has a desire to teach classes on worship and voice on an individual basis, or in a workshop/seminar setting. Her heart is to teach individuals and teams the practical sides of worship—things like stage presence, the responsibility of a platform vocalist, worship leading, choir directing, song writing and more!
Today, Kat not only teaches the choir and vocals as a staff member at the Rock Family Worship Center in Huntsville, AL but she’s also one of the main worship leaders as well. Through all this, Kat knows the Lord has called her to be an encourager. Whether it’s in worship, teaching or a simple word, Kat’s heart is to encourage. Part of Kat’s testimony is her overcoming fear and insecurities. For years she kept silent and now she has a passion to see others not let fears and insecurities stop them from becoming all that God has called them to be!
Kat has been married to her first and only boyfriend, Robbie, for over 10 years and they now have two incredible sons named Zeke and Zac.
